MacEwan University improves students’ reception

Context

Founded in 1971 in the city of Edmonton, located in the province of Alberta in Canada, MacEwan University welcomes 18,000 students each year. Following a call for tenders, ESII solutions were selected to replace an existing solution.

Installation

To create a smoother reception process, the Orion solution in SaaS manages the installation done at the registration desk of the university. This setup includes a Keo™ connected kiosk and two video screens that display called numbers. Several purposes of visit are offered to the students: Information & Registration, Financial Aid and Fees.They can either select one or more purposes on the kiosk to receive a paper ticket or use their smartphone to scan a QRCode to get a digital ticket.

Benefits

The benefits of Orion extend beyond just efficiently organizing student waiting times, particularly during peak periods at the beginning of the academic year; but translate into a decrease of the stress linked to the buzzing activity of the registration desk. With the choice of either a paper or digital ticket, students can select the method that suits them best.
